Honest used electric motorcycles: how we test the battery

When buying a pre-owned electric motorcycle, the main concern is usually the battery. Factory specifications describe ideal conditions that simply do not exist on the real terrain around Almaty. We do not rely on spec sheets. Every Sur-Ron or Arctic Leopard that comes off our rental fleet or through trade-in undergoes diagnostics in our workshop.

We check the cells and the BMS board. A simple charge to 100 percent does not always show the real picture. Cell imbalance can hide at the lower end of the discharge curve. We run a full cycle and measure the remaining capacity in amp-hours. As a result, the buyer gets exact numbers. This is capacity measured under the test conditions. Amp-hours are not watt-hours of energy and do not guarantee range on any route.

Besides the battery, we inspect the power cables insulation and controller connectors. Deep water and high-pressure washing take their toll, so connection sealing is critical here. The running gear gets a close look too. We check chain stretch, linkage bearings condition, and swingarm play before the bike goes on the floor.

We show the entire service history openly. Before the deal, you see the list of replaced parts. We are honest about where the motorcycle went down, what was changed in the suspension, and why it is being sold. This is the only normal approach to machines working under serious load.
