People often search for the Talaria Sting and Komodo right next to Sur-Ron, and it makes sense: they are the same kind of machine, light electric enduro bikes for forest trails, mountains and town. The shop used to sell both brands. Since September 2026 Talaria is gone from the catalogue and Sur-Ron stays. Here is why, and what to buy instead.

Short answer

If you live in Almaty and are choosing between Talaria and Sur-Ron, get the Sur-Ron. Not because the Talaria is a bad bike. Sur-Ron comes with what you need after the purchase: parts in our catalogue, a workshop that services the same bikes in its own fleet, and a chance to ride that model before you pay.

Why we kept one brand

The shop runs a parts catalogue and a workshop. Two brands of the same class mean two sets of plastics, suspension, controllers and brakes, and half of them sit on the shelf for months. We kept the brand we ride ourselves and use on our tours. Our catalogue lists more than 500 Sur-Ron parts: batteries and cells, controllers, suspension, sprockets and chains, plastics.

For an owner that matters more than a gap on a spec sheet. A bike waiting for a part sits in the garage, and its peak power does nothing for it there.

Which Sur-Ron to take instead of a Talaria

The Talaria Sting is usually compared with the Light Bee X, while the Komodo is closer to the Ultra Bee. Here is what we have now:

The Light Bee X and the Ultra Bee are in our rental fleet. The tour around Big Almaty Lake costs 30,000 tenge and runs on the Light Bee X, which is enough to get a feel for the riding position and how the bike behaves. No experience needed, the route is rated 1 out of 10. You cannot do that with a Talaria: there is none in the fleet.
